APEL.A is an admission pathway to higher education for individuals who do not possess formal academic qualifications but have relevant work experience. The process involves the identification, documentation, and assessment of prior experiential learning, conducted by an APEL Assessment Centre (Pusat Penilaian APEL, PPA) appointed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) prior to admission into an academic programme. This initiative provides experienced individuals with the opportunity to pursue higher education at higher education institutions (HEIs).

APEL.A ADMISSION LEVELS

The APEL.A admission pathway covers multiple levels of study, enabling candidates to pursue higher education from the certificate level up to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) level, depending on their prior experience and qualifications.

At UNIMEL, the APEL.A pathway is offered for admission to Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6), Master’s Degree (Level 7), and Doctoral Degree (Level 8) programmes, providing experienced individuals with the opportunity to pursue higher education without the need for formal academic qualifications.
